Power Made Perfect in Weakness

Time has been flying by, and we are already in you fourth week of training (both on and off the field). We practice six days a week and have Bible studies and sports ministry training every day as well. We have a small team of 16 players (no goalkeeper yet), and they are all soaking up everything that they are learning. Many of these girls are new believers, and it is amazing to see the way that God is transforming their lives every day.
Things have been busy here and the Lord is continuing to teach us more then we could imagine. Just as with Gideon's little army that did mighty things, God has been removing people and resources from our team. We thank Him for His faithfulness in providing for us each day, and giving us the most important thing: His presence in our lives. It is evident in the Bible that God chooses to use the smallest and the weakest to do great things for His glory. That way, we have no room to boast in ourselves and the things that we accomplish. As a team, we are humbled in knowing that God doesn't need us, but is choosing to use us to change the world of women's soccer in Brazil.
"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weakness, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." --II Corinthians 12:9-10
